The Application of Nanotechnology
Since a physicist Richard Feymann discussed Nanotechnology in 1959, in his book, the application field of the Nanotechnology had expanded greatly. However some of you may not realize how it is utilized around you.
There are so many fields that you can use the technology. This is one of the reasons why it is not easy to imagine what is it used for.
For example, just to name the applicable fields to which platinum nanocolloid;
- Chemical Industry
- Automotive Industry
- Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Industry
- Environmental Science and Technology
- Electronics and Semiconductor Industry
- Energy and Renewable Energy Sector
- Materials Science and Nanotechnology
- Sensors and Analytical Instrumentation
- Water Treatment and Purification Industry
- Research and Development in Academic and Industrial Labs
- Etc.
The platinum nanocolloid is the solvent with the nanoparticles of platinum. You know what each industry does, but it may be hard to imagine how the Nanotechnology is applied. You know platinum and you know each industry, too. But it is hard to imagine how it is used.
One of the important starting point of understanding this new technology is to get out of conventional views on materials.
The first easy introduction is this video.
In a nutshell, it goes beyond, or far below, the materials you can see.
And it provides the new features or characteristics onto the other material.
For example, platinum nanocolloid has the platinum nano particles mixed with a solvent. While it is included in a kind of a skin creme, it functions to prevent UV light to reach into your skin. It occurs while the platinum particles does not change its states, it means that this does not do any harm to your skin only to prevent the UV rays to penetrate.
It is likely that the sun blocking creme you use contain this material. It is one of a very popular applications around you.
The platinum nano particles are absorbing and reflecting UV rays, forming a kind of layer on your skin. Since the layer is very thin, nanometer level thickness of course, it forms the invisible (by human eyes) layer.
